I love teaching art to kids!

I began teaching after school art classes to children in 2003. Seeing the need for art classes for my son, I offered weekly classes for him and some of the neighbors. The rest is history.

I graduated with an elementary ed degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, taught for Seattle Public Schools, and did freelance artwork before moving to Charlottesville. In C'ville, I've taught art at Greer Elementary as well as the after school classes.

 

My philosophy is to encourage children to learn all sorts of art medium in the relaxed atmosphere that I would have wanted as a kid. Classes are held in my basement studio. My son and daughter are now grown, and my very supportive husband is often found on the golf course while classes are being taught. Buster, our petite golden doodle dog, is my constant companion during art classes and the kids love him.
